"My kids and I have a hard time finding stuff we can do together... I decided to give the VR escape room a try for my birthday outing. It was challenging, forced us to work together, and it felt good to accomplish something together!"

Good To Know

Fun things to do in Austin, answered

What are fun things to do in Austin?
Austin has live music, food trucks and the lake, but if you want something active and different, Zero Latency VR South Austin is one of the most popular indoor activities in the city. Under one roof you'll find free-roam virtual reality for up to 8 players, VR escape rooms, family adventure games, real-steel axe throwing next door, and a kids' RC construction yard. It's great for date nights, birthdays, group outings, bachelor parties and team building.
What is there to do in Austin when it rains or it's too hot?
Zero Latency is fully indoor and air-conditioned, which makes it a reliable rainy-day or beat-the-heat plan. Whatever the weather outside, the arena experience is exactly the same, so it's an easy backup when outdoor plans fall through.
Is this a good date night idea in Austin?
Yes. It's a shared, hands-on experience instead of sitting silently through a movie. Couples team up against zombies, raid alien worlds, work through a VR escape room, or throw axes side by side. Check our weekly specials for date-night deals.
What can groups, teams and bachelor parties do here?
Up to 8 players share a single VR game, so birthday groups, friend crews and work teams all stay together — and group rates cover 4 to 24 players, with full venue takeovers available for larger events. Add axe throwing for a bachelor/ette party or a corporate outing. See team building, birthday parties and bachelor/ette parties.
Is there anything for kids and families?
Yes — Zero Latency VR is great for all ages. There's no age requirement; you just need to be at least 1.2 m (about 4 ft) tall to play in VR. The one-hour VR Adventure Games pass is a family favorite, and the new RC Yard lets younger kids drive real RC construction vehicles in a sand pit. Tell us who's coming and we'll recommend the right mix for your group.
Do I need any gaming or VR experience?
None at all. Most guests are first-timers. Our staff gear you up, explain everything, and help your group the whole way through, so there's nothing to figure out on your own.
